Development Philosophie

As already mentioned what I don’t want is to create a second SAP  with The Outlook Show Manager ;-)

We will start very, very small and add all the nice features that are really needed. I have a quite clear picture of what I need, but this should not be a tool just for me. So I really need your input, your needs, your ideas to make this a great new tool.

For me, every time I got a phone call or an email in the past I was pondering: Should I already create a new database record for this business opportunity (BO)? Very often I didn’t because my database would ask for too much input for a BO that was still extremely uncertain. The result BOs where forgotten, double bookings on the same date etc.

Ok, you might say that I’m a lazy and unorganized person and you might be right, but I’m sure that I can build a software that does not encourage such a behaviour by requiring only minimal input as is really needed.

I will offer from a very early stage on downloads for testing and would be really happy if some people would be willing to help me as tester even in the very early stages. But even the first release will be of some use.

Already in my last job I was great fan of eXtreme programming, a programming process where small steps of tested functionality and direct feedback from the user is in its center. This project will be done much like this.

In a later stage I will setup a Mantis bug tracking system if you feedback by email gets overwhelming.
