A piece of artwork: CoinTwo from Homer Liwag

When I got the packet yesterday and I opened it I was stunned. This didn’t look like a normal magic DVD. Already the packaging is a piece of art and so are the other details.

Inside I found a hand signed and numbered DVD envelope and an introductory postcard written with homers very distinctive hand. Also there are a couple prints of productions shots as good designed as the whole DVD.

There a two routines on the DVD one for 3 Coins and a sea shell (little throw off for laymen ;-) ) another one where you only need 3 Coins and a jacket (I think you know why). They are three coin production and vanishing routines, but watch yourself:

The first remarkable thing about this DVD that, with the exception of two chapters where Liam talks about tips and finesses, the whole DVD is produced silent to music. All explanations are done with subtitles or on screen graphics. Watch this, it’s just too beautiful.

Homer does the explanation in great detail. In an additional section he talks about some finesse and tips. I never saw a magic DVD produced like this and I’m still so impressed I had to blog about it.

I have not worked on the routine yet , but it looks as if it’s in the possibilities of a intermediate to advanced sleight of hand artist.

Strangely some of the parts of the routine look in the explanation part cleaner and more relaxed  than in the performance part. On his website it’s stated that the performance shots were very difficult because of the variations of close up and and total shots. Perhaps that might be the reason.

Another thing that irritated me before I saw the DVD is that Homer almost apologizes on the introductory card for that the routine would not be a worker and not be very entertaining. It should be a starting point to develop our own routines. So my first thought was: “What did I buy here?” But after watching the DVD I only can think of it as sort of extreme understatement.

I didn’t know Homer at all before and I’m happy that I met him on Twitter otherwise I never would have thought ob buying CoinTwo.

CoinTwo is limited to 1000 DVDs.  I got number 973, so hurry if you want this extraordinary DVD too.

You can buy it (if you are fast) at homer’s website www.homerliwag.com for

$34.95

It’s a must have!
